Welcome to the Senior Department of Homefield Preparatory School where we deliver an outstanding quality of education for boys aged 8-13 years old, building on the strong academic and pastoral foundations laid out in our Early Years and Junior Departments.
All of our boys benefit from specialist teachers for all of their lessons who challenge them to fulfil their potential in every subject. Many of our senior faculty have a background in teaching to GCSE and A-level standard. Our curriculum is designed to develop our boys as individuals, thoroughly preparing them for examinations to a wide range of senior schools - our successful approach is reflected in the fact that so many of our boys have been awarded scholarships to some of the best senior schools in the country.
Each year our boys are awarded offers to the very best Independent and State Grammar schools in London and Surrey.
School Place Offers 2017/18
In addition to nurturing the academic development of our boys, we also have an extensive extra-curricular provision which encourages the boys to develop a range of talents. Activities range from Greek, Chinese, Chess, LAMDA and Dance to Chamber Choir, Jazz Orchestra, Squash, Judo, Karate and Fencing.
2017 was another year of real success for our Year 8 boys: 100% gained Common Entrance, all secured schools of choice, overall the highest proportion of marks were A grades, with 74% at A* or B standard overall. Last year 12 scholarships were awarded from senior schools including King's College School, Box Hill, Trinity and Whitgift. It is also worth noting there were numerous merits and distinctions earned by individual boys in the CE examinations. CAT4 analysis of Year 8 boys shows that 93% are highly likely to gain at least 5 A*-C grades at GCSE compared to the national average of 60%. It is predicted that 77% are most likely to get A or A* for Maths.

We fully support the boys as they develop the self confidence to take on positions of responsibility, developing them into potential future leaders. We are very proud of their achievements and encourage them to make the very most of every opportunity offered to them during their time at Homefield.
